Hi, I’m Amy Jo and I’m glad you’re here!
I’m proud of my food and agriculture background (check out the scroll if you want more information on that)…
Through my career in Food and Agiculture, watching people grow has easily been more meaningful to me than crops or cows…and (I believe) the people have a larger impact on the greater system, which is that’s why I’ve started The Growth Movement.
If we want the things around us to imrpove - we have to make sure we’re bringing improvement.
Join me in the movement?
TOO LONG - DIDN’T READ SECTION ABOUT AMY JO
Howdy 🤠
I’ve got a real passion for people, and while I’m generally enthusiastic about most things, I get absolutely JAZZED when I can help someone learn something about themself that helps them GROW and MOVE forward into the future of their dreams! (Grow…Move… The Growth Movement?)
Most of my values and approach to work were formed growing up on a dairy farm, where I still frequent - it keeps me humble and teaches me a whole lot of life lessons (even as an adult - more, probably!).
I’m a Purdue Boilermaker, having two degrees from there and spending 1o years as an employee working in 4-H Youth Development, and Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Outreach, where I gained active experience in Advising, Teaching, and Program Development and Management.
Not really professional in nature but important for the movement - In 2015, one of my best friends and I adopted a lifestyle we called “Camp Try New Things” - we started doing the things we always wanted to but wheere we had frequently found ourselves making excuses for why we couldn’t (sound familiar?). I used the CampTNT concept in my work, with my friends, and it changed my life! Over on the About Page you’ll find some photos of the CampTNT crew trying new things!
After 10 years at Purdue, I decided to try something new, and took a leap to an agricultural tech scale-up world, where my leadership helped the company triple its original size in both revenue and headcount. I started in Learning and Development, gained HR experience (and credentials with a PHR Certification) and became instrumental in establishing people development processes, navigating change, and fostering transparent communication and cultural conversations. This time in my life taught me a TON about scaling business and culture, and myself.
Which brings us to where you find yourself today - The Growth Movement. My company, where I channel a passion for helping people, with enthusiasm, to show the value of self-leadership and trying new things to achieve objectives and just straight up win (and enjoy) life. Right now, we are in the growth (see what I did there) stages of what this all might look like - but it’ll have an online community membership option, programs, and more. I’m motivated to help people help themselves - and so excited to build this with all of you.
We can have fun and get stuff done. Let’s do it.
I can’t tell you how glad I am that you’re here - reach out, I’d love to meet you and welcome you to the community.
